And now that the holidays are here, well, we think these glossy, glam HOT CHOCOLATE styles are party hair perfection. So we asked Chris to give us the low-down on how he gets the looks…plus, begged him to share his “secret recipe” for upgrading basic brunette to rich, steamy HOT CHOCOLATE hair.
HOT CHOCOLATE STYLE
SUPER LONG, SUPER GLOSSY, SUPER SEXY
Definitely, one way Chris transforms brown hair from “so-so” to “SO EXTRA” in this look is by adding extensions in a warmer shade of brown which instantly does two things: first, and most obviously, the effect is dramatic, and then, on a more subtle level, Chris’ choice of warmer, coppery-hued extensions instantly add layers of lustery highlights.
But, really, extensions are only part of the story! There’s a much deeper magic behind this style. And it’s all about creating a rich, glossy, super reflective texture that will turn heads…a là the light reflecting power of a blonde.
1. SHAMPOO THE HAIR WITH COLOR SECURITY SHAMPOO:
Chris is adamant about using this shampoo formula. “It’s a really, really vital part of the shine process simply because it has no extra ingredients which will dull the hair down or leave anything on the hair or scalp.” Chris pairs the Color Wow Color Security Shampoo with Color Wow Color Security Conditioner, which detangles, hydrates and has no typical ingredients that will oxidize and turn the hair orange or brassy.
2. NEXT STEP ON THE WAY TO A GLOSSY HOT CHOCOLATE FINISH:

4. TIME TO GIVE THE EXTENSIONS A LITTLE LOVIN’:
Most extensions need to be treated before you attach them to your hair, Chris says. His advice is to repeat what you’ve already done to your own hair. 5. WITH HAIR AND EXTENSIONS READY, IT’S TIME TO JOIN FORCES:
Chris’ process is simple. Clip back your top layer of hair, section off where you want to attach the extension, and tease the roots with a comb.
