HAIR HACKS FOR BLOWOUTS: HOW TO MAKE YOUR BLOWOUT FASTER
No one wants to spend hours on a blowout for their hair, but pretty much everyone wants to look like they did. Luckily, there are a few easy tips and tricks you can use when you are short on time and don’t want to sacrifice your style. Today, we’re showing you a few simple hair hacks to help you blowout hair faster than ever.
#1 HAIR HACKS FOR BLOWOUTS: USE A PRODUCT TO CUT DRY TIME
One of the biggest time sucks when doing your blowout? Starting from scratch. When you have to wash your hair and get it dry from soaking wet - it can take a lot longer than anticipated. Two tips to speed it up? First blot your hair using a microfiber towel. Microfiber fabric is super absorbent but also ultra gentle, so it actually minimizes frizz while removing excess water.
Once you finish blotting your hair pick up a quick blow-dry product. Now, most blowout accelerators use alcohol to evaporate water from wet hair, which dehydrates and damages hair, so you want to make sure whichever product you choose doesn’t contain alcohol. Our pick for at-home blowouts? Color Wow Speed Dry. It’s a totally alcohol-free formula with built in heat protectant that virtually “shrink-wraps” strands, to squeeze out excess water and speed up drying.
After shampooing and conditioning, towel dry hair and spray Speed Dry liberally and comb through the hair. Your blowout time will be cut by approximately 30% and thus reduces heat damage.

#2 HAIR HACKS FOR BLOWOUTS: SKIP THE SHAMPOO
If your hair doesn’t feel dirty, you can skip the shampoo process all together and actually do a dry-hair blowout (a faux-dry!).
What’s a dry blowout? Essentially, you apply a little bit of a styling cream (our pick is Color Wow One-Minute Transformation) to dry hair and then use a round brush and a dryer to smooth out your strands. Rich in Omega 3’s, One-Minute Transformation nourishes and hydrates without leaving hair greasy or oily.

#3 HAIR HACKS FOR BLOWOUTS: HOW TO SECTION HAIR
When it comes to mastering a blowout, many people will take time making sure every single strand looks perfect - but that’s totally unnecessary. Instead focus on the crucial zones - aka the front of your hair (figure 1) and the crown (figure 2). These spots are the most noticeable and have the biggest impact when it comes to creating the structure for your style.
1. Start by simply sectioning off your hairline (bangs/sides) and spend the most time getting this area super smooth, as these are your face framing pieces.
2. Next, section off your top, center crown area. Using a round brush or a roller (3 rollers should do it) blow each section dry. This smooth section of hair will cover the under layers of your hair. Then return the smooth hair to a clip to keep it sectioned.
3. Rough dry the rest of your hair and brush over the top of the hair that has been rough dried. Once dry, release the smoothed crown section over the remainder of your hair.
4. The perfectly blown-dry top layer will fall over the hair underneath for a smooth, silky finish.
